Alyssa Cantwell

Keeper/Volunteer Coordinator

Alyssa is a San Diego native, started at LTB as a volunteer in early 2015 before being hired as a part time keeper in April of 2016 and now full time as a keeper and volunteer coordinator. She has a degree in biology from the University of San Diego and a love for animals she received from her grandfather, a veterinarian. Alyssa previously worked as a tour guide for the San Diego Zoo, teaching guests about conservation and how they could make a difference.

Alyssa always knew she wanted to work with exotic animals. Here at LTB Alyssa is able to indulge her passion and help make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. “I never thought the saying ‘do what you love and you will never work a day in your life’ could possibly be true until I came here. These animals are pure love and I wouldn’t do anything else.”

Neftali “Martine” Guiterrez

Martine is one of our Senior Keepers and has been with LTB since 2007. Along with providing daily care to LTB’s animal crew, Martine also plays an active role in helping to construct new habitats at LTB.

She has now firmly planted herself and her expertise at Lions Tigers & Bears. She met LTB’s Founder, Bobbi Brink back in 2003 when the sanctuary was just beginning. Her dream was to someday work at LTB with Bobbi Brink. Her dream is a reality and she is very excited to be a part of the LTB team!

Lauren Morrow

Members Coordinator and Data Entry Specialist

Lauren was born in San Diego and returned home in 2016. She graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2015 with her Bachelor in Business Administration.  She previously worked in Colfax, WA with the developmentally delayed as office manager and administrator. The transition to Lions Tigers & Bears was an easy one as she finds joy in helping others (humans and animals) and knowing that her line of work has a positive outcome.  LTB is the perfect fit for her and she notes that she loves spending time with the animals and sharing our cause with folks like you!

Amy Tillotson

Administrative Assistant

Amy graduated from Whitworth College in Washington, headed to San Diego for the Summer and never left. Amy has been an animal lover since early childhood. Almost every picture of her growing up has an animal. Her family always wondered what animal she was going to bring home next, they ranged from dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, birds, fish…. She’s a strong believer in rescuing the animals we already have on this earth and providing them with love, respect and kindness and this is what LTB is all about. In her free time Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, dogs, family, friends, playing beach volleyball and working in her yard.

Brian Williams

Animal/Grounds Keeper

Brian is a San Diego native. He graduated from CSU – Sacramento with a B.S. in Biology and a concentration in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation. Brian has a varying background working with animals, from studying ring tail cats in the wild during college to interning at the Arkansas big cat sanctuary, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Brian brings his passion for animals to LTB as one of our knowledgeable keepers. His favorite animal is Maverick the tiger and his favorite thing about LTB is seeing firsthand the lengths our sanctuary will go to protect all animals in captivity, not just those who we care for directly.
