Raja came to us with Natasha in September 2002 from a backyard owner in Texas where they were kept in a 6′ x 12′ cage with no shade. The tiger pair were bought as a wedding gift, and kept together in the deplorable backyard cage for years. Raja was a gentle giant, who helped raise his two tiger daughters, Tabu and Sitarra. He was a loving, gentle dad. Raja loved swimming in the pool of McGrath Family Tiger Trails, laying in the cool grass and hanging with Natasha and his two girls. In October of 2013, Raja passed away. He had been suffering from renal failure and kidney disease. Raja’s spirit will always live on here at Lions Tigers & Bears. Rest in Peace our Gentle Giant.
